Sunset at Perisher (still hate the skiing part!)

For all of my lamenting
About the artlessness of skiing
The chunky gear, the slippery snow
The hassle of simply weeing

One can’t ignore the reality
Of beauty rich and rare
That skiers and non-skiers alike
Applaud, admire and share

From the window of a warm chalet
Glass of wine in hand
It’s hard to describe the magnificent view
So humbling and grand

Dreamy hues; pink, orange and red
Colours so exquisitely lush
Juxtaposed against pure white snow
Sparkling, silken and plush

Goodbye beautiful day
As the sun sets in the sky
Inspiring hope and happiness
And always asking why?
